Boat fishing tips North Dublin

#1 Post by Chris T »

Hi all,

just wondering if anyone has a few tips that I can put into use....

I'm hoping to get a bit of use this summer out of the boat that's been sitting in the Drive for about 2 years now. I'm hoping for mixed fishing, around Skerries. Not interested in jigging for Mackerel & Pollock, would like to try for ray, ling, Flats, bass, even tope if they're around. trouble is I dont know how. Can anyone let me know what are the best rigs, time of tide, baits, even locations although I realise that these may well be secret.

Also, what other species can be caught??

All comments grately appreciated!!!

You'll have to do a good bit work to get good mixed species fishing out of North Dublin. It's not impossible, but putting the time into plenty of marks will be needed. Stick with it over a good few sessions and you will be rewarded. Be prepared for a few tough days.

Rockabill light house fishing quite well the last few years, codling, wrasse, ling, pouting, pollock, whiting among other's being caught, have also caught thornback ray, huss and plenty of dogs south east of rock on sandy ground at anchor.
Hope this helps, but as the other lads have pointed out, just keep trying new spots and when you get one that fishes well, mark it on your GPS.
