Donegal Beach Mark, Feburary 2nd 2012

#1 Post by FisherKing »

People: Myself

Duration: 3 Hrs

Tide: Filling

Weather: cold with a SE light wind

Bait: Mackerel

Rigs: One up one down flappers

Results: 2 Flounder, 1 Sea trout

Report:
Was in Donegal Thursday & as the fishing gear is fixture in the car these days never know when you might need them  I picked up some mackerel fillets for bait on the way & gave one of the beaches a go for a few hours.

Cast out the usual two rods one at distance & in close, it started of slow with just one Flounder to show for an hour but as I was letting her go I got a good knock on the second rod went over & started to reel in slowly & could fell a something nice fighting back when out came a nice Trout of 41 cm 8) happy days first of the year a few pictures & off she swam to fight another day as I’ve been getting a bit of slagging from the missus about buying a license to fish for them when hadn’t caught any & its February already so that’s the first one with some bigger ones to follow soon  fishing died off again with just one more Flounder on the last cast & will try this mark again with some lug to see how it fishes.
