Antrim Rocks 18/01/12

#1 Post by Drew »

People: Bingham and Drew

Duration: 4.30pm - 8.30pm

Tide: Over High

Weather: Showery and Cold

Bait: Lug, Rag, Mackeral, Sandeel, Squid

Rigs: Various

Results: Codling, Whiting, Dabs, and Dog

Report:

A typical trip up the coast I guess, fished baits at various ranges where whiting were waiting to decimate beautifully presented coctails... I personally had 1 rod out with 3 large baits awaiting a better Codling which never materialised, along with 3 smaller hooks on the other rod for scratching. Had one doggie on a Sandeel on a Penell Pulley but that was the weightiest thing we saw all night.
Still a good way to spend a night...

Well you know myself and Al will certainly put you onto them, and as Jordan said, there's some marks where they literally carpet the sea bed...

Not a bad haul on a cold night. Was out myself on Wednesday night and blanked

Hard to beat the great outdoors :)
