Now I feel guilty  so here goes,,,,,

People:me

Duration:too long

Tide:coming in

Weather:windy where I was but grand around the corner

Bait:lug, mack, squid

Rigs:2 hook and pulleys

Results:whiting, lots of them, all small , 1 small pollock and a 5 beard rockling

Report:I went to Wicklow Harbour with some nice fresh lug, squid and mack and some lovely teatowels which would be a nice background to the fish I thought I was going to catch . There were some other lads from the site there so it would be a grand opportunity for me to show off all I had learned from Fishface,,,,,aka Neil Brown of the Greystones Browns'. I set up in the "hotspot" at the end of the pier and cast out in the hope of massive coalies or pollock or cod,,,,i'm not that fussy . I reeled in a Killoughter dog on the first cast (a piece of weed with a rock attached) but it wasn't long before I had both rods being attacked by pin whiting . Neil Brown arrived just in time to see me snap off . I had done this deliberately in order for him to demonstrate one of his secret braid to leader knots . Neil then went down to the other lads to give them a chance to meet a celebrity angler like himself,,,,he's all heart . I continued on catching pin whiting and using up more bait until it had all disappeared. I did manage to add a 5 beard rockling to my species tally and I also found a quite edible Cadbury's Snack in the bottom of my bag,,,,,,,I'm sure those dates on the packets are flexible, what's a month here or there . I got there at about 6pm and was pretty knackered by 10pm as I had been working all day before I got here,,,,hang on that sounds familiar ,, that's what Neil says when it's time for him to vamoose so I headed off home . My poor teatowels never even got their photo taken, they just got wiped in lug and squid insides and other goo I'll be back, but i'll wait for the summer and the mini rod for the mini species . Now to plan for next week
