winter deep water thornie mark worth the effort

#1 Post by last cast lad »

People:me

Duration:3hrs

Tide:dropping

Weather:calm and mild (for a change)

Bait:frozen mack and sandeel

Rigs:pulley, clipped down

Results: 1 dogfish, 5 thornies

Report:
Just had to get out fishing its been a month of freezing, high winds and snow so first oppertunity to get out I jumped at, I made the effort to get to a mark that sometimes produces in winter and it was sheer bliss to be stood there looking at the rod tips, after a month of no fishing I would have been happy with a blank  it just felt good to be out again.
Very slow for the first hour and then things began to pick up :D :D , next 2 hours produced 5 thornies .4lb 3oz, 3lb 12oz, 5lb 12oz, 3lb 3oz,1lb 13oz. :D :D
Forgot to take a picture of the bigger one in my haste to return it and get bait back in the water  No monsters but definately worth the effort at this time of year. There has to be a specimen out ther but the littlest uns keep on lifting the biggest baits
