The Boys Head to Cork!!!

#1 Post by Creep »

People:Tightlines & bro, Sparkey+1, Miami, Laurence, and Creep

Duration: 4pm-bloody late

Tide:low to high

Weather:beautiful and warm

Bait:everything

Rigs:everything

Results: Codling the codder codders

Well it’s a trip that has been on the cards for sometime and with recent catch reports coming from Cork hopes were high, we all hooked up around 11am with the final pick up around 12, and we were on route to Youghal, after 2.5 hours we arrived at our mark which Sean35 kindly went down to the night before to check it for weed and fish, and his report came back good. Tightlines and his bro would be arriving down a little later, giving us a chance to set-up and slag each other off, till then we got the lines out, prepared bait and rigs, then around 9pm the fish started to show Laurence was first in followed by Sparkey+1 and Tightlines and his bro!!! Most of the fish were around 2lbs or over, a pleasure to see compared to our East Coast whiting plague at present! Meanwhile yours truly and Miami were so far blanking... I stuck fresh bait on but a little too late I’m afraid as after 9:30pm only Laurence and Tightlines were still reeling in solitary fish. No matter what I tried, it seemed to fail, even the tackle box secret failed!!! And it was at this point I was looking at my lifeless rods hoping they would burst into a dance that I realized the horror of another blank!
Around 1:30am we started the slog home Sparkey and Laurence pleased with their catches and Miami and me down hearted…. So being tired, switched the sat nav on to take the easy way home…….what a mistake that was!!!! It pointed a route towards Waterford as being the quickest BUT the damn thing is completely out of date and didn’t know about the new motorways! Completely lost in the back roads of nowhere eventually to reach Dublin at 6am!! Still the lads went home with fish but not exactly pleased with the sightseeing tour of lower Waterford!! …. next trip Creeps Revenge!!
sorry about some fuzzy pictures when the cod were running there was heavy fog about ;)

@ Originalsin & Sparkey as I quote ........Fr. Jack..... "Feck Off!!!"

Someone had to take the pictures!! thats my story and Im stickin with it!, I suppose what didnt help was the whole night we had one decent run of fish and during that run (without me knowing it) my hooks were stripped
Let the lads have their fun hehehe .... Theres a fishy out there with my name on it!!

@ defella... its begining to look that way :D

@ Al & Jordan.. funny thing was we were using the same bait same hook sizes casting around the same distance and myself and miami struck out it was like every 2nd person blanking?!! Originalsin was here X, I was here _, Sparkey was here X, Miami was here_, and Tighlines was here X,
@ Stevo.. their heads are big enough!! :D :D Their still texting me saying how nice it is to have fresh cod and chips!!

ya'll be laughin now!! :D :D :D come the next trip we'll see whos eaten dinner :D :D As for directions, I'll merely say this, when your tired and in a new spot ya think the easy thing to do is click on the sat nav and let it lead the way, also that local lad sayin he hits Dublin via Waterford faster ?? rather then the Cork motor way?? I would have personally said the Motorway meself but this thing (its 7 years old) was pointing a different way
