Youghal 13/11/11

#1 Post by MarkoC »

People: Me, my dad and cousin

Duration: 6.20PM till 11PM

Tide: High tide was about 7

Weather: Very windy at the start, calmed later

Bait: Peelers

Rigs: Usual

Results:4 coalies and 3 cods

Report:

My relatives came down just to visit Ireland and i took them out for fishing tonight. Was a bit poor till about 7.30 when my fishing neighbor Gordon picked up 1 smaller size of cod and couple coalies. I think he left about half 8 or 9 when i had no fish at all and he was sure there wont be anymore. But then the all the fun just started after he left.

Also another guy started to get lucky about the same time. Our team used 1.5 rods and our new fishing neighbor 2 rods. So my cousin got the first coalfish about 13cm long .... Well, you can get him next year. Shortly after 9 i got my first cod of the night. 48cm fatty boy, delighted. Didnt really look at the clock but then after about every half hour i caught a cod and 1cm longer than previous one. So biggest one was 50cm long but i dunno the weight as i have no scale yet ... Also picked up 1 coaly myself between the cod session. And our neighbor managed to get same lucky as we were with hes 3 cods and couple coalies

Tide was very low already about 11 and my relatives became very tired so had to make them happy and turn back home. And our neighbor fisherman headed to the docks i think. I wish i could join him but .... Im happy enough tonight :)

Btw there was no weed at all when tide moved back !

Sry had no camera with me on the spot, so cleaned ones again :P
