Another night on Donaghadee, 05/11/11

#1 Post by Drew »

People: Just me

Duration: 4pm - 8pm

Tide: Pushing to High

Weather: Flat, Blue Skies, Cold when it got dark

Bait: Ragworm, Mackeral and Squid

Rigs: 1up1down, 3 Hooks clipped, P.pulley, freelining

Results:

Ballan Wrasse, Pollack, Coalies, Whiting, Pouting, Plaice

Report:

Had worms to use up so decided Donaghadee was as good a place as any to use them, before the light went I managed around 6 Ballans which was good to see as the rough weather and coloured water had kept them off the feed for a couple of weeks.
Plenty of Pollack and Coalies around interspersed with the Odd Pouting and Whiting and a single solitary plaice on rag tipped with mackeral.
Got a TigaSL headlamp today and gave it a good testing, most fun of the night was snatching pollack off the top on freelined mackeral strip..
Another fun night... =]
2015 Lure: Pollack, Herring, Whiting, Sand Goby, Poor Cod, Pouting

42 Species to beat 2011 & 2014
Entries now open for the Henry's Tackle Shop All Ireland Shore Smooth Hound Championships on July 18h hosted by Sea Angling Ireland SAC
