east cork cods 31/10/11

People:me

Duration:20.00 till 21.00

Tide:hw 20.30

Weather:flat calm

Bait: crab

Rigs:clipped

Results:codling x3 1.5lb 2.5lb 6lb




Report:
had a brief window to wet a line so headed to a local deep water mark first cast hit into a small codling 1.5lb second cast produced another codling a lb bigger than the first fella went quiet then till the last cast got a belter of a bite had a bit of fun with him on the way in and then landed a 6lb cod unfortunately i had too head home then :x

That's a nice big one alright - may have to give it a go myself this evening if I can find a weed free spot :roll: :roll:

Great cod mate well done hope to get down that way for a cast or two soon. Looks like a great blow coming in from the south tomorrow which would sound like a good thing, but lots of rain with it also which makes too much fresh water coming into any bay with a river entering it.

super stuff great result for a short session hope they are still around on friday when i head down (if the weather holds)

weed is a nightmare at moment alright only getting to fish proper over the top and bottom of the tide

cheers wez the fresh hasnt affected the fishing around here at all yet thank god

nice fish there man ! planning on going after some cod myself on the weekend
2011 species: pollock,mackeral,coalfish,whiting,codling,conger,flounder,dogfish,pouting.Not bad for my first few months fishing :)

2012 species: Coalfish (13), Bass (1), Rockling (5), Ballan wrasse (2), Pollock (57), Dogfish (8),
Whiting (1), Conger (1)
