Good job Alan, well done and some nice fish for the table too. Hard to beat some fresh Cod, especially around that size, and good to see people make a nice meal from their catch.
ps. Hopefully Glenarm picks up a bit soon, it hasn't been great at all recently.

Yea put the photos all the rong way round cod bites take 2 side fillits of each fish make sure your codling are at least a pound and a half go over the fillits with tweezers for the bones left where the back bone was a job for the wife chop the codling into nice chunks make your batter with water and plain flower dip them into the chip pan for 2 ta 3 minutes and thats it tasty dip the codling bites in flower before you dip them in the batter to help the batter stick to the cod bites done

nice one, cheers alan. im gonna have to source and invest in a chip pan! never cooked them like that myself before
and the next issue will be figuring out what sort of oil to be using ... oh yeah, and catchin some decent cod..
i know this is not a cookery forum but i would really appreciate advice on type of oil. and maybe even some other peoples ideas on how to prepare batter and then cook the perfect fat-fried fish......
thanks again
