Colemans Lanterns

Hi all

I want to buy a good lantern for my night sessions.

I bought the lantern attachment from Go Systems in the summer, as I have a Go Systems stove used for overnighters.
So for handyness you can just use the same gas bottle i.e. unscrew the stove fitting and screw on the lantern.

The Go Systems lamp is not overly bright though and I would like to get a good Colemans one, or alternative brand.

What are peoples thoughts? theres a couple of different coleman lanterns on the market (single mantle or double mantle etc)

Thinking about splashing out on the Colemans North Star (see below Amazon link)

Its the most expensive so should be the best one right?? What do we think?? I notice it has a singel mantle so wonder if a double would be brighter, although it states on the website I should get 200W..

I would appreciate anyones opinion...

I have the duel fuel powerhouse type coleman,pleanty of light and great for warming the old handies,a bit cheaper than the one ur goin for,only problem is getting good quality replacement mantles,i wish they would invent unbreakable ones,but for the price the powerhouse is grand

i dont know about colemans lamps but i do know this is not the way to go about choosing one

i have a colman power house duel full great light and as said above some hand warmth
a few tips thow
1. use the best qality fuel you can get try find high octane petrol if you can find it. and use the filter provided and keep filter clean in zip lock bag
2. let the presure out via the petrol intake after let it cool mostly first though
3. store in a good dry shed
i had one for over ten years this way
id go for the northstar though more light and being newer model the parts will be easer find in years to come
