I always remember this stretch of coast as a bit of a fish desert. Probably the most barren of the north coast. Perhaps it has changed - i am talking about 20 years ago

I fished off the rocks beside the car park at ramore head on sunday morning. I used feathers and hokkai types and landed 8 mackerel and 2 pollock in just over an hour.
Fished the rocks near Ballyreagh 2 weeks ago for an hour, I caught 2 small pollock and my daughter caught 3 mackerel on her first cast.
Seems early morning or evening is best.

it is the head of the peninsula upon which portrush is built.,basically drive past the harbour/waterworld,at the top of this wee hill turn left following signs for lansdowne car park.you will drive past the bowling/tennis greens.park in the big car park and follow the path at the car park end of the greens.it will lead youy onto the rocks, fish anywhere you like but usually i walk as far as possible along the rocks back next the harbour.only fish this venue if sea conditions are good, dont chance it when rough, it can be a real dangerous hole!!!!
hope this helps
