People:me my son gavin and darrell

Duration: 4 to 5 hours per day

Tide:up and down

Weather:exellent

Bait:sandeel mack spinner

Rigs:10o pulley

Results:meFishing in west cork.
27th of aug long drive from dublin to the beara arrived at the cottage after 2 stunning sea views was dying
to do a bit of fishing straight away but didnt had to get supplys in and do family things.
Sunday weather was fab drove around with the family checking out some amazing looking marks
Monday me, my son gavin, and his friend Darrell who had never caught a fish b4 fished the sound from 6 to 9.30pm
with pollock every cast Darrell caught his first fish he ended the session with 4 fish Gavin was spinning catching 15 pollock
and 3 mackerel i was useing sandeels ending the session with 18 pollock great start to the fishing.
Tuesday decided to try for some huss drove to a mark that i new produced them set up a 10o hook on wire trace
about 2 hours in got my first bite rod doubled in 2 struck and i was on about a min in fish was gone next cast
another fish felt very big same again fish gone 3rd cast struck home i was on again it was a huss as soon as i got a look of him
he got of wife and daughter went to the car i said i have one more cast rod doubled struck i was on landed him
he weighed in at 12pounds few photos and put him back.
Thursday was dying to get back to the huss mark couldnt ask the wife and daughter to wait in the grass again
they decided to go to castletownbere happy days me and the 2 boys went of to the mark i set up the big rod and out she went
Gavin and Darrell were spinning catching pollock every cast Gavin 25 pollock and 3 mackerel Darrell 3 pollock and a mackerel
I was jigging with an eel catching pollock every cast big rod started to go dog fish then another rod doubled another huss
weighed in at 10 and half pounds
Friday 3 boys out again pollock every cast with the odd mackerel thrown in i ended the week with 2 dogs 2 huss
3 bearded rockling 79 pollock 7 mackerel Gavin 52 pollock 25 mackerel Darrell 2 mackerel 5 pollock
if the great angling god was to restrict my fishing to just one part of this country i'd opt for this one....

brilliant fishing gorgeous spot!a fine huss you got for yourself there and fish all round happy days and you couldnt be in a nicer place!

Great report, great fishing and great pics. I'm travelling from Edinburgh to the Beara this Saturday for a week with Paul Harris and if I wasn't excited enough about it before I read your report, I'm worse now!!!!
