beach fishing in holland

hi all.i have allocated to south of rotterdam to work for a wee while.just wondering if the beaches here are fishable and what am i likely to catch.also where i work at the moment,the river rhine flows past with a massive cargo ship traffic system.a guy told me today that you can catch sole.has anyone any more info for me

Hi Brian, I was based in NL myself for a number of Years.
Fished Europort - right beside you in Rotterdam a few times and never blanked.

Cracking spot, miles of sandy beach and no one to be seen.
Check out Google Maps for "Europort, Rotterdam" and you will see for yourself.

If memory serves we had some schoolies (but is is a long time ago), I recon you will get the normal species as well.

"Hengelsport winkel" is the Dutch word for fishing shop and if you also google it you will find the tackle shops in Rotterdam.

Also fished the Piers in Scheveningen in the Haag (Den Haag) again the usual species, flats and some pollack. Tackle shop near the start of the Pier did Rag at the time. Cracking spot as well for a few biers....

Coffee shop fishing for supplies then rotterdam port my mate lives over there plenty of flats!!!

Flounder,plaice,dab,turbot and sole etc... Flatfish
