Clogherhead

#1 Post by Creep »

People: Me

Duration: 7pm-12am

Tide: Low water running to high

Weather: Very windy on shore gust

Bait: Rag/Mack/Lug

Rigs:Clipped down/ Flapper

Results: 1 Dab (small) and 8 small Whitting

Report:
Well after a great weekend, I decided to run up to Clogher and give it a go, but could only manage to go when the tide was wrong, Low tide was at 6pm, and a strong on-shore wind... fished off the pier as I couldnt do the rocks due to a busted toe :( third cast from pier hooked into a small dab, then crabs, and what i thought were crabs stripping the bait was small whitting which I caught 8 of the little hungry monsters, someone has to feed them things!! :D Met Brain out there woop woop mate!! It was a pleasure chattin with you, stayed till about 12am as high water was due in, around 11pm/11:30pm everything died off and bait was coming in untouched? Even the crabs werent feeding!
Oh and seemingly they dont like Lug out there as the rod loaded with lug bait was generally left untouched, HOWEVER Rag barely touched the water and there were small hits! (I'll presumme our Whitting friends!!) :D

weights/ Grippers due to the strong head wind 2-3oz

Very little weed (a very small amount on high water), water condition was very good (not cloudy)
(Sorry about the quality of the pics, Camera phone at night has a problem with auto focus gonna start taking the other camera out :D)
Pictures are actual size :D!!! LMAO!

Yeah they can have the colour but it does vary so it shouldn't be relied upon completely..the easiest way to identify a Pollock is by his Jaw. A Pollocks bottom Jaw will overlap the top ;)
