Hows things man I would recommend you to ignore them rods and go for a savage gear bushwacker they cost between 80-100 euro and have them in Henrys tackle in Dublin, look for reviews of that rod best value for money lure rod on the market.

Don't have any experience of the Berkely or Tubertini but I had a look at the Daiwa in a local shop and was sorely tempted, thought it looked like a beautiful rod for the money. Have read a lot of positive feedback about it too, nothing about the other two, for whatever that's worth.

The 9ft Daiwa 10-40 would be a safe bet I'd say, as would a 10-40g Bushwhacker if you could find one. I had the 15-50g Bushwhacker and found it a little heavy for lighter lures and plastics.

hope that helps Oli, if it were me i'd go for the Daiwa.

When my ML 1010Pro broke I took the opportunity to get a new make of rod. I bought the Grauvel Teklon Concept Spin - and sent it back tout-de-suite and replaced it with a replacement 1010Pro.

I guess with all rods it's down to individual preference which is what makes recommending rods so difficult. I just found that the Grauvel could not cast even close to the distance my 1010 pro could and I want as much distance as I can get. For close in work it is probably just fine. Before you say it, yes my 1010 Pro broke - but so do Sakura and lots of others - sh!t happens from time to time. Other than that I've always rated that rod.
