Greystones 06/08
People: Me
Duration: 14.00 - 18.00
Tide: HT around 17.00ish
Weather: Torrential downpours, overcast, not much wind
Bait: Lure
Rigs:
Results: 2 Bass, 1 Pollock, all catch and release.
Report: Weather was terrible but for a fisherman it was perfect, surprised not to see any other anglers out.As it was so overcast I decided to try a mid day session, got there and saw the sea was quite choppy, looked perfect for a Bass. I had a bit of an audience when 3 seals decided to watch me from about 30 feet out, I couldn't get rid of them, moved to a spot and they'd turn up, got the first Bass on a maria chase, was about 6-8lb, the second one went for a Slug-go and was slightly smaller, both put up a great scrap, I hooked one quite close to the seals and was afraid the seal would have it, but I don't think they like Bass, too spikey. I put photos in my gallery, can't seem to upload them onto this page, sorry. Pollock was only about 1lb. Wonder where all the macks have gone was hoping for a brace for the breakfast in the morning!
