Report:

Well in typical fashion a trip that was months in the making was truely poop. Lovely part of the world to go (nearly) blanking in!

Went down early on Friday, with a stop off with Joe in Courtown (Good to meet you man!), had heard word that there was good fishing to be had on a couple of the beaches around Kilmore Quay, so we picked one of the more well known ones and landed down full of anticipation, another Angler was soon over telling us how truely CRAP the fishing had been, turned out to be Croppy from the forum (Good to meet you mate, thanks for the bait!!). Anyway to cut a long story short we spent the guts of 4 hours fishing and managed 2 Flounder, Surrounded by people who arrived AFTER we started fishing, Yet decided to swim right in front of us. Cheers folks... (maybe there was something wrong with the other Mile or so of beach that we weren't fishing?)....

Our second shore Session was last night, A wee hour chucking lures over some broken ground... Tide was ripping round it beautifully and I actually thought we might have connected with something, Various plugs were chucked in all directions but after an hours hard graft we resigned ourselves to yet another fruitless session!

Last session was about an hour later, the mouth of an estuary beautiful, Sandbars, submerged rocks, a ripping tide... Looked like heaven... 20 minutes later and heaven was hell, Rigs returned with weed every cast, and after barely an hour we decided this labour intensive sea gardening wasn't worth the effort...

Best laid plans and all that.... Though if you want to hear about some fish... I'll have a boat report up in about half an hour...

I know exactly how you feel, did the same trip in April. Everybody else seemed to be catching yet no matter what my mate and me tried we got next to bugger all. Had a few on the last of a 3 night trip but nothing to justify the trip down there.

Oh well, you gave it a go, if you don't try you've not got a hope!
