Bass & Mouth of the Boyne

#1 Post by wobbie10 »

Hi All,

Need some help here before i go really crazy!!!
I have been trying "unsuccessfully" to land a bass around the Boyne mouth for 2 seasons now.

From talking to other anglers down there they are there but everyone seems to be after sea trout.

I have tried fishing all combos of tides from low to high but no success.
Have managed a few sea trout but no bass :(

I am mainly using plugs (feed shallows, top water plugs) but have tried soft plastics also.

Has anyone any suggestions ? feel free to pm me if you have some secret tips.
Also if anyone local wants to meet up to fish / share tactics please feel free to PM me.

Thanks for any help provided. :D

I'd suggest using plugs in sea-trout colouration...I'd imagine that's what the bass are feeding on.

Do you fish the north or south side?
