Duration: 5.00 am to 9.30 am
Tide: High around 6.30 am
Weather: Nice, calm, dull, not much wind.
Bait: Lure
Rigs:
Results: 3 Bass, best 5lb, 2 schoolies. 1 seatrout @ 4lb. 1 coalie.
Report:
Nice session, got 2 bass on maria chase and 1 on a green kilty, was surprised to get the seatrout, it took a maria chase very close, maybe 5 feet from the shore, put up a great scrap, only my second ever seatrout. All catch and release.
Duration: 5.00 am to 9.30 am

Cheers, I have photos but Im having trouble uploading them onto this site, it was them same for my last report so I gave up. I actually put a photo on facebook on the Bassfishing society page last night of my previous trip, I might put up the seatrout on that too.

2012 Sea species:- Pollack, Coley, Mackerel, Cod, Bass, Sea Trout, Haddock, Plaice, Dab, Flounder, Red Gurnard, Grey Gurnard, Pouting, Whiting, Corkwing Wrasse, Ballan Wrasse, Lesser Spotted Dogfish, Brown Trout caught on beach.
2011 Sea species:- codling, L.S. dogfish, coley, whiting, pollack(4lb 3oz), sea trout, shore conger eel (15lb), ballan wrasse, grey gurnard, plaice, dab (and lobster).
2012 Sea species:- Pollack, Coley, Mackerel, Cod, Bass, Sea Trout, Haddock, Plaice, Dab, Flounder, Red Gurnard, Grey Gurnard, Pouting, Whiting, Corkwing Wrasse, Ballan Wrasse, Lesser Spotted Dogfish, Brown Trout caught on beach.

Always hear these reports of Bass in Greystones but never got one and never seen one being caught there

Yep, me too always hearing recent reports of all these supposedly great Bass being caught on South Beach at Ballgannon. No pics, little specifics; beginning to wonder about fishing stories. Spend some time there in July but nothing but weed!!

well done richie, i got my first bass on the south beach and a good few more there, its an odd beach to catch on and u never know wat u can get there, ive even caught mackeral there 1 november

Well, I gave you enough information and its up to yourself to get out and have a go, no point complaining about weed, we all have those days, don't let it put you off just make a note for the next time, state of tide, wind condition, time of day, condition of sea, water clarity etc, I spend alot of time fishing that area, sometimes it good and sometimes its not, thats fishing.EcoFish wrote:Yep, me too always hearing recent reports of all these supposedly great Bass being caught on South Beach at Ballgannon.
