is it possible to catch tope from the east coast? and if so where?

while fishing our club competition last sun I had my rod taken out of the tripod lucky i was close by and i caught the rod mid air had him on for 10sec. when i reeled in my hook was as straight as a ruler, two casts later the same happened again. The boy wonder(Stephen Brennan) had his rod taken in, and only for the quick thinking of kris burness beside him his rod was gone, he cast out over the rod and managed to snag it. all this went on in broad daylight in Kiloughter last sun. So be prepaired put your clutch on and stand by your rod.
