Dollymount, Dublin 20/06/2011

#1 Post by dfella25 »

People:Mr. Canning, Bomber Canning, Gordy and myself

Duration:9:30pm till 11:30pm

Tide:LW about 9ish

Weather:Nasty rain

Bait:Rag, razor & lug

Rigs:2 hook flappers

Results:1 Bass to Bren the Bomber

Report:With all my gear still in Wexford I had to beg borrow and steal to get out tonight. Managed a basic set up and off we went. Myself and Gordy arrived down on the beach to find Bren and his dad set up. As we went about getting sorted Bren let a yell and we seen him pull a bass up the beach. Things looked up! Quick photo and Bren popped her back in the suds.

Then the weed came on the attack and every cast resulted in a five minute deweeding of our traces and what not. It kept up for a couple of hours and eventually we all got sick of it and packed up. The driving rain didn't help the situation either. Nice to see the bass back around Dublin for their holeyors!

Beach Buddy would have been useless on Dollier with the tide. Anyway I was ok with my waders, two rain coats & waterproof hat. Just couldn't light a smoke!!
