Report:Got up this morning a bit hungover to say the least and was greeted with an exited wee girl who couldn't wait to give her Daddy his pressie! She then said what are we doing today Daddy to which i replied "lets go fishing"!! She got all exited as this would have been her first proper fishing trip as the last time i took her she was to small to even hold the rod!!
With the wife only having 4 weeks left of her pregnancy she was glad to get out of the house!! Sorted out the gear and packed a picnic and we were soon on the road. Got to the pier to find that the tide was too far out to begin fishing so we went to the park for a while. An hour later we had setup and had our lines in the water. I setup with the big rod and fired out a pulley loaded with sandeel and mack. Set the wee woman up with feathers and after some instruction she was getting well into it!! After an hour nothing was happening so decided to change tactics for her, so cut some macks into strips and loaded the feathers up so she could fish the bottom for a while. 15 mins later she reeled in to rebait and to her amazement there was a starfish on the hook! This got her really interested so out she went again and within 5 mins she had a really solid knock, picked up and wound in a lovely Dab. This just made her day!! She was just over the moon that her Daddy still hadn't caught anything and she had 2. Anyway the wife was getting cold so we packed up and went for a picnic!! Great day and the wee woman wouldn't shut up asking me the whole way home "when are you gonna take me away fishing again Daddy!! Perfect Fathers Day!!
