Wexford
Arrived down @ 7am and fished until 10.45. I had no bites the whole time expect for 1 crab using rag and mackeral after about an hour. My dad decided to move up to the fresh water stream that leads into the sea as he wasn't getting any bites. On his second cast he had a fews nibbles and then landed a small flounder. After that things completely died down and it was that point we decided to leave.
Wicklow
Arrived in Newcastle about 11.50. It was like winter. There were 2 other anglers on the beach when we arrived. The only thing I could see them catching was huge clumps of weed. We setup just opposite the the steps at the railway track (we weren't in the mood for walking very far) Our first few casts consisted of hauling in weed as expected. Within an hour the bites started - dogfish. We had a succession of bites and within the space of 1 hour we had caught 5 dog fish (all on mackeral, rag and lug wasn't touched)
In summary we were disappointed with Wexford but happy enough to catch something on Newcastle beach as the last few visits over the years here have been blanks.
Cheers
Andy
