Report: fished a local venue for a few hours after spending a few days trying to get some fresh mackerel. Joe had huss to about five pounds on his first and second cast. I struggled to catch a small dog which was unable to swallow the half mackerel bait. I lost a few good fish but had to move as I was driven up to rocks I couldnt risk standing on. After moving i had two good huss from a spot I never expected to get a bite from. First fish was a PB of just under 11lb. Nearly lost it in the surf and had to grab it by the tail. Second fish was around 7 lb.

cracking huss there neil, and atleast somebodys catching mackerel tried at the mark we were at at the weekend and they just werent there.. well done m8!!!!

We went back out to the mark the following day and had another five huss, the best being this one caught by Joe
We didnt weigh any of them but this one was probably around 7lb. ALL fish taken on running leads and fresh mackerel.
