North Wexford 4\06\11
People:Drummer, Conor, Peader, Gearoid and myself
Duration:5 untill 12:30
Tide:hw aprox 11:30
Weather:NE wind.
Bait:Rag, lug, sandeel, crab, mackeral, squid, razor.
Rigs: flappers, pulleys, loop rigs, up and overs.
Results:Flounders, dogs, whiting, smoothounds, pup tope.
Report:We were booked to go out on the Puffin with Joe Byrne in Courtown but the north easterly wind put paid to those plans so we decided on a shore session instead as Drummer had promised his son Conor to bring him out fishing. First off we went to a beach south of Courtown but the weed was realy bad here and fishing was far from comfortable, but young Conor excelled and winkled out two flounder, the only fish we landed here. We then moved venue and found a beach that was weed free and had a few fish on it, Conor continued to hockey the flatties while we started to hit pup hounds and dogs and I sneeked a pup tope as the sun started to fade. report continued on next post

Re: North Wexford 4\06\11
Report continued (poxy PS3) as it got dark Gearoid struck into a good fish and after a brief scrap a 5lb 10 oz hound was on the beach, his first Hound and he was one happy man. We went mad then for the next hour and a half blasting out big crab and rag baits but no more big fish just pups.So well done to young Conor and Gearoid, turned out a good day out and we will get out on the boat with Joe soon for them fat tope
Gearoid will put a few pics up soon.

Thats a good result mate, i think thats the first hound ive heard off this side off the liffy which wernt a pup. I hope you took a piccy off it.
I had My trip cancelled to yesterday from courtown. Was gutted as I was really looking forward to it. Hopefully it's going out later on today tho, I really want catch my 1st Tope off the year! Or my first ever decent hound
