big smoothies well lads do they get caught in boats here or not i,m talking about 15 to 20 lb ers :?: i want a big one on light gear or am i gonna have to go abroard to get one ?????????
also is this poxy wind ever gonna die down??

Cant tell you if they can be caught here rog, but check out planet sea fishing. There catching them north Wales up and over 20 lb :shock:

Guess your heading abroad Roger as Irish record is 16.58 lb and a specimen is 7lb. :D :D

They do get some fine big fish compared to us, I wonder why though? any thoughts?

I cant wait for a few decent ones, another week should see a few decent ones on the bank.

Was talking to a lad a few weeks ago a 16lber was caught on a boat West Cork on crab seen the photo and date he released it she was full of pups. Roger buy a boat and fish West Cork with nothing but crab :mrgreen: want the Gps mark?

Namibia. I had several over 30 lbs, lost count of the number over 20, anything 10 -20 lbs wasn't noteworthy and anything under 10 lbs was a nuisance.

15lb Ugly Stick, 20lb Berkley Fireline, black Abu 7000, 2 oz lead, boat anchored in 6 feet of water outside the breakers. The fish could only run, not dive...... :D

False Bay South Africa.... Had a 50lber :) Will root out the pic for a post tomorrow. :mrgreen:

There is an article about Smoothies in Irish Angler's Digest this month. Ed Farrell mentions that the bigger specimens seem more common on the east side of the Irish Sea. It's quite an interesting article.
