well done to south shore for a great comp pity not as many anglers fished it as expected, was great to fish an open that showed what the wicklow beaches can throw up from early summer and hopefully alot more opens will be held on these beaches during summer, well done to karl who fished two pegs to the left of me and was catching throughout the comp even when it slowed down at times.

Re: 5th leg Leinster League, North Beach Wicklow June 18th
Last nights comp was brilliant, plenty of fish from the start with dogs, whiting, flats, few ray and even a huss... As was previously said, hopefully more of the Leinster League comps will be fished in darkness and the madness of fishing the Wexford/Wicklow beaches in daylight with restricted baits will STOP! Fair play to the lads in South Shore for switching the comp from Sunday to Saturday night...
Anyone have the full results?

Congratulations to South Shore Sac on running a very successful competition on Saturday night.
I spent most of the drive home wondering when was the last leinster league that each zone was won with 30 fish or more ?
I think its great that every angler on the beach caught some fish ,after all isn't that what its all about.

Great to see everyone happy with the fishing...... it is like these beaches use to fish in the past. The tide was right the weather conditions were good the sea was settled for a few days and there was not much weed, it also suited the bait we were using
. Yes we will have to ear mark this date for futher competitions it makes lads feel good after catching a few fish for a change.
I'd like to thank the lads that did turn up and fish
although we had a very poor turn out I think only 40 odd managed to prise themselfs off the couch and pub
. Maybe the penny will drop soon

I'd like to thank the lads that did turn up and fish

The Restricted Baits don't have as much of a negative impact on fish numbers as long as the Correct Venues are fished on the Correct Tides and Times.onlyacod wrote:Hopefully more of the Leinster League comps will be fished in darkness and the madness of fishing the Wexford/Wicklow beaches in daylight with restricted baits will STOP!
If ALL the Leinster Leagues were run using this common sense, Saturdays Night's fish numbers and angling enjoyment would be a common occurrence.
Hopefully other clubs will follow South Shores Progressive Example and follow suit...........

That's the point I'm making.... Most off the Leinster League comps are being fished on the wrong venues at the wrong times as well as the wrong baits e.g scratching for flounders on the Wexford beaches in daylight without maddies!Labyrinthfish wrote:The Restricted Baits don't have as much of a negative impact on fish numbers as long as the Correct Venues are fished on the Correct Tides and Times.onlyacod wrote:Hopefully more of the Leinster League comps will be fished in darkness and the madness of fishing the Wexford/Wicklow beaches in daylight with restricted baits will STOP!
