#1 Post by evan699 »

Just wondering is there any about and if any of the lads on hear know of a good one. I thought myself to cast and i wouldn't mind getting a few tips and try to stretch my cast a bit further for some marks.

If your part of a club why not organise a casting day with sports cast Ireland, would be a drive I know from Cork but would be well worth it.

Tony Santry used to give lessons. Try Sea Angler as there are a small number of coaches listed with them.

Just want to say thanks again for all the help with this. I reckon i was hitting 100 yards before i got any help. Red gave me a dvd durin the week and i measured a cast on the beach last night at about 120 yards. I then met sean and paidi from west cork and district club and they ran me through a few casts and got me workin hard on a few points i was messing up on. We measured another one of my casts before we finished up and it came in at 140 yards. I watched the lads launching leads 224 meters so i'll have to keep up the practice for a while i think. My little daiwa 7ht never had so much line stripped as it did when sean gave it a blast with the mags full off. Nearly stripped it down to the spool  . And we even managed a few fish at the end of the night.

Cheers for the help,
And the aching shoulders,
Tight lines,
Evan

I don't think i'll catch the bug. The problem with casting courts is the fish don't seem to like them.
