Thinking about heading to Newcastle and giving it a go but it seems to be a bit of a black hole as far as angling goes - next to no information on it!
Any info on Newcastle and surrounding area would be great - thanks.

magie leap
Only spot i know is as above. A flat rock mark that holds wrasse and pollock and mac. Drive coast road out of newcastle about 3 mile and theres a carpark with public toilets a path runs beside toilets follow path and you will see a large flat rock. Be safe i would fish with someone as tide and wind can get strong.

I think pookies talking about Maggies Leap.
A decent cast will put you onto cleanish ground.
Used to be a good mark a few years ago for cod and plaice. Havn't heard any recent reports.
Another mark on past it is Cranfield point at the mouth of Carlingford Lough. Worth fishing if its a bad day and no tourists about.
Bill.
