Back of East Pier Dun Laoghaire

#1 Post by Tommy B »

Hello all

I was just wondering has anyone ever fished here on the rocks with lures right up to Sandycove. Years ago there was a good chance of a big Pollack or wrasse. With all the new tackle out now i.e. lures, plastics etc. i was thinking there might be a chance of a Bass on a big Spring tide (after the ban). I never see anyone fishing here now. Please PM me if you don't want to post.

Theres definitely a chance. Have never tryed it myself but it looks ideal ground for wrasse. Last summer around now i saw three or four big mullet about 5 to 8 pounds right in close. Have seen reports of codling, rockling and coalfish but only ever in the winter. If you give it a try let me know how you get on.
