Yea its an undulate alright and a nice one! The small smoothound may have been a pup tope ( more likely in that area)...

Have you any photo's of the smoothie?? I've never heard of them being caught in Kerry, It'd be great if they made an appearance! I suspect that it might of been either a small tope or spurdog.

nice undulate, good to see they are about, might venture down to see if i can get the big one I caught last year, it would surely be a record fish by now..

nice fish. I THOUGHT PUBLIC ACCESS TO THAT PIER WAS STOPPED! Delighted to see it's not so.

Re: fenit pier-kerry- last weekend
Public access to the end of the pier is restricted due to vandalism of the cranes and the increased volume of traffic to the pier in recent years. Fishing along the viaduct is allowed and it seems is pretty productive at the moment. When the sun is shining beware of the feathers being wielded by lunatics/fanatics

Re: fenit pier-kerry- last weekend
can you confirm if fishing is 'restricted' or 'prohibited', ie can you fish at night or dawn from pier head or simply not at all??? thanks

Re: fenit pier-kerry- last weekend
To be honest I'm not sure restricted to when there is no Ship or Crane equipment in action I think but again I'm not sure. People regularly fish it and there are no signs banning it to my knowledge. I know the gate is closed at night but I will investigate the matter further and see what I can find out!

I went down with my son last year and there were a few foreigners fishing with feathers and you would swear they were fly fishing , absolute clownssully wrote:Public access to the end of the pier is restricted due to vandalism of the cranes and the increased volume of traffic to the pier in recent years.
