What shark ?

#1 Post by flynnboy »

Hi

This morning I was watching a shark which must have been about 20' in length patrolling up & down about 100yds out from shore on Donegal Bay. I am convinced it was not a Basking shark because it was not 'basking' but frequently stopping, hanging stationary, and seemed to be patrolling up & down hunting; the sea birds certainly didn't hang around. It was there for at least 1/2 hr and was still there when I left.

Does anyone have any ideas what sort of shark this might have been ?

Well looking at that it seems it could have been a basking shark but I thought they were always on the move ? This one was not, but then I know little about their habits.

It was off St.Johns Point.
