another fishing legend lost
It is with great sadness that I inform you all of the death of paul brierley,
any one who knew him will tell you he was an amazing person, always willing to help you out, great angler and generally a great guy to have around, he taught me how to fish as a kid, got me my first multiplier and taught me how to use it,
he will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him
rip paul

Re: another fishing legend lost
I cant believe this and feel physically sick.
Spent 4 great days fishing in Blackpool with Paul in the early nineties.
What a great angler, and such a genuine person.
A true gent.
Rest in peace Paul.

Jesus ... I was waiting for the post to open wondering what name i would see.
Totally stunned, Paul was a great guy and a wonderful angler.
Spent over 2 weeks in the Gambia with Paul Fishing.
Plenty of fond memories from my Blackrock sac days.
RIP Bud.

Re: another fishing legend lost
Big big shock to learn that such a nice lad could be taken at such early age really sad. I like most match anglers have fond memories of Paul, he was one of the top lads in the 90s and won the Master Angler up the north when he out foxed everyone using Maddies. I can still see that big proud smile as he lifted the trophy, what a loss to his family and friends RIP.
Kstaff has always been the new black in my eyes anyway!!!!!!!

Re: another fishing legend lost
That is shocking news .
I remember Paul mainly from trips to the Hook for comps down there .First off for getting arm deep into the bog to sort out a blockage despite someone doing a malicious floater and the other time when I collected a prize he turned around to me and said 'Is that your surname ? 3years I know you and I never knew that' ..
A gentleman who I am sorry I wont bump into again .

Terrible sad news - a very honest bloke who always made time for me as a Junior angler. I learnt a lot from him over the years. RIP Paul.

This is terribly sad news. Like a lot of people I remember Paul from the match scene back in the 90's. It's a sad day when you hear news like this.
