Fine Cork Evening Session

#1 Post by tomgrey »

People: Me

Duration: 7pm until 11pm

Tide: High at 10pm I think

Weather: mild

Bait: lug and razor

Rigs: 2/0 Flapper, 1/0 double runner rig

Results: 1 bass, 2 dogfish, 6 flounder, 3 coalfish

Report: Caught the last of the fine evening sun and watched the sunset. I got the first fish, a dogfish, just before sunset. I had a few flonder, the biggest about 32cm, with 1 or 2 coalfish in between. It went quiet for about an hour over high water then I got a bass about 42cm and another small coalfish after the tide turned before packing up around 11pm . Sorry for the short report, have been meaning to put it up for days but haven't had the time. Didn't get too many photo's either. Out now to do some painting before the darkness arrives :( ...

Perfect report if you ask me. Was down that way the weekend. Tried very hard for a good bass but we had to make do with plenty of small lads all under 2lb. Lots of flounder and a good 48cm cod. God i love cork beaches!!

Cheers doublebubble, my reports are usually a bit more detailed, I just wanted to get it up because of lack of time. Sounds like you had a good session yourself, a few bass is nice no matter what the size. Also nice size cod to be getting from the shore at this time of year, well done. No report?

Cheers dude, I am hoping to see one up by yourself with an east coast silver fella on display since they seem to be back in around there going by recent reports!

It does actually look like that from the photo doesn't it  , but no Pat, it was fairly wet sand and he was flapping about so I its just buried a little.

Very true on the bass front alright Tom. At one stage i was reeling one in with my heart in my mouth thinking i had a good one and it was only about 2lb! some fight off them bars of silver. I am not great with the laptops and downloading and the last time i posted up i was asked about why i diddnt have pics up! I normally fish with Razor off this site so i do leave it up to him for the reports and pics..

cheers chuckaroo, some of the photo's turned out a bit blury and I ran out of batteries, changed them around and luckily I got a pic of the bass just before they ran out.
