Report:
Shep's only fished around the Co. Down coast so decided to invite him on one of our trips up the coast. We were for making a day of it, so after leaving work at 2pm it was straight home, met Dan and went to get Sheppy. Half way to Bangor, Phonecall, Dad, You left your Wallet at home! Sh*t! Back to Millisle. Finally made McKees tackle for my worms at 3.10pm then the long drive up the coast. Stopped at the Galley in Carnlough for dinner (Chicken Fillet Burger, OMG, LUSH!) then onwards and upwards to find a mark.
Mark One was a well known venue, it stank to high heaven, and we had a couple of lads beside us playing rave music pretty loud. While we were here, Shep caught his first 4 Flatfish ever! so he was well pleased, I had a Dab and a Plaice so I was happy, but Dan couldn't seem to connect with anything, which is unusal as he's usually pretty jammy! The arrival of some feather chuckers prompted a move, so we weighed up our options and decided to give a rock mark close by a bit of a chuck.
Mark afforded us some deep water close to shore even though the tide was now well into the drop. We picked up a better variety here and Dan and I caught up with Sheppy, even managed a couple of daytime dogfish, which facinated Shep as he still hasn't had one. A couple of Codling and a lone Coalfish also made an appearance here, Pity Shep didn't get his Doggie this time, but there's always the next trip eh?
All in all, a great day out! Where shall I go tomorrow??
