flounder fantasic...7/04/2011

people.. myself...
bait.. lug,razor and sandeel...
time.. 11.30am to 3pm...
tide... fully out at 1.23pm....

RESULT... after a couple of bad session the fish gods sent me some fish... decided to try one of my flounder marks near spiddal... first cast bite.. nice flounder... and flounder after flounder... as the tide reach its lowest point the fish stoped feeding. but knowing this from previous session i knew this would happened and it did... so i went for a wounder along the shore line... i seen a few shinny things wash up on the beach so went to have a look.... sandeels every where..so i only had my pockets to put them in... most of them where still alive... happy days .... fresh baits for the freezer...... just after the tide turned the fish start moving again.. all in all i finished up with 12 nice size flounder.. not bad for 3 hrs fishing.... hope i can get the photos up now.......cant get the pictures up as it is saying pixels are too big....

boat species09~~~pollack,cod,haddock,whiting,doggies,bullhuss,tope,john dory,thornebsck,blonde,blue shark,spur dog,wrase,gunnard,pouting,

shore species 2010~~~ dab,flounder,thorneback ray,pollack,plaice,coalies,turbot,wrasse,bull huss, lsd...

boat trips 4 result..pouting,, spurdog.pollack,
shore trips 2010.... 36.....

Well done - 12 flounder in three hours is a great result.
Cod season Winter 2013/14: 117 cod (best fish: 6.5 lbs)
Cod season Winter 2014/15: 193 cod (best fish: 4.25 lbs)

Cracking fish, well done Alan. Nice one with the free sandeel too, lucky bugger.
2013 Sea Species:- Bass, Flounder, 5 Beard Rockling, Shore Rockling, Whiting, red gurnard, grey gurnard, Pollack, coley, mackerel, sea trout, cant remember cos I didn't update at the time.....
2012 Sea species:- Pollack, Coley, Mackerel, Cod, Bass, Sea Trout, Haddock, Plaice, Dab, Flounder, Red Gurnard, Grey Gurnard, Pouting, Whiting, Corkwing Wrasse, Ballan Wrasse, Lesser Spotted Dogfish, Brown Trout caught on beach.
2011 Sea species:- codling, L.S. dogfish, coley, whiting, pollack(4lb 3oz), sea trout, shore conger eel (15lb), ballan wrasse, grey gurnard, plaice, dab (and lobster).

Awesome fishing. Here was me thinking incoming high tides were the only good time to fish. What's in the mouth of the first flounder? (It doesn't look like rag, razor or sandeel.) I had a quick look at flounder on http://www.fishbase.org/Summary/Species ... T=flounder which is quite interersting...also it reminds me of my favourite on-line video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axD7vKBLFf8 (flounder fishing in Boston)
