Tide flows in Donegal and North Antrim

#1 Post by bootster »

Can anybody give me any idea what kind of strength the tides generally are around parts of DOnegal and the North Antrim/Derry coast? Clearly some places will have far stronger rips than others but on whole what's it like for yakking?

I've done a bit of yakking elsewhere and start to get a little jittery with more than 3-4kts under me when at anchor. I'd love to get out and explore some of the more remote parts but if the rips are too strong I'm afraid I'm not willing to take the risk of getting into trouble.

Can anybody assist?
