Arklow South Beach. 29th Mar 11

#1 Post by davybrown99 »

People:Myself and Ryan (8)

Duration:8.30 to 10.30

Tide:Falling

Weather:Damp and foggy

Bait:Lug

Rigs:Flappers and wishbones

Results:Dab, flounder, whiting, codling, 5b rockling.

Report: First trip out in about a year. Brought the young lad tothe local beach to shake off the cobwebs and rustiness of such a long layoff. Wasnt expecting a whole lot given recent reports from the east coast but we were kept busy with constant rattles on the rods. All small fish with largest being a codling of around 25cm. Doubles of tiny whiting all session within minutes of baits hitting the water. Happy enough to get back at it and the little lad had a great time. Excellent spot to bring kids with easy access and plenty of fish close in. Only down side was one fluffed cast with an almighty birdy resulting  but i guess thats what happens after so long away. Looking forward to getting out again now(when i untangle the reel  ).

5 species and a birdy and one happy 8yr old you have to happy with that. By the time you get the birdy sorted out it will be time for another session.
