A big thank you - You have done something.

You may remember a post I made here some time back in relation to Wexfords Biodiversity management -

Wexford County Council want the views of all members of the community to help plan how the biodiversity resources of our County will be protected and managed over the next five years. What we’d like to know:

Submissions were made to Wexford Co.Council in the last few weeks

TOTAL 99 received - of that TOTAL 75 were in relation to the continued protection of the bass fishery

75% of total submissions received were concerned about conservation, protection and the re-opening of the commercial bass fishery.

congratulations to everyone in many ways

Wexford CC cant in effect DO anything in relation to fisheries protection - there are other bodies already charged with that responsibility. However there appears to be areas within which 'the fishery' could be further enhanced and protected under already 'similarly existing' wildlife directives.

I cant speak about this at this time not for any reason other than I dont have the specific detail - I hope to be able to chat with the co-ordinator of the program in the next few days.

To me the simple showing of concern in one particular area of interest as demonstrated by the anglers who made submissions is a fantastic thing.
