People:me

Duration:2hours

Tide:high at 15:40

Weather:Mild and overcast

Bait:Lures

Rigs:

Results:One Bass

Report:
Quick report, went to a rock mark this afternoon planning to fish with lures for one hour either side of h.w., had a couple of new toys to wet , so arrived at the mark at 14:30 and immediately out with the new lure to see how it goes. Lovely action on the lure and the conditions were good too, overcast, mild, good clarity, and a bit of fizz in the water. After about ten minutes decided to swap lure, put on a gataride, first cast fish on. Nothing huge but a nice bass 44 cm just over 3lbs :D . Fished over high water until about 5 o' clock, not much else to report, had a few other knocks but no other hook ups, a bit of weed was showing up near the end so decided to pack up and head home. First bass of the year so happy days! 8)

Well done on your first lure caught bass of 2011.
The water is still very cold off the south coast. I was washing my hands in the sea last night and the sea water felt numbingly cold so it was a some achievement to get a bass on a lure this early. Although I think I will stick to bait fishing for at least another month until the water warms up a bit.
Cod season Winter 2013/14: 117 cod (best fish: 6.5 lbs)
