Headed to monkstown last night knowing tide was all wrong, but have to take what I can get . 2 small coldings for my efforts.
Biggest shock of the night was when an Otter came up the steps to see who was around! Pic didn't come out too well.
5 mins later he was back with a fairly decent sized cod in his mouth and then proceeded to munch it under the pier.

i had what i think was a family of otters taking fish off me last year as i was reeling it. all i could see was the eyes reflecting back at me from the headlamp.
cool little critters but not when your fishing
Otters are cool, I'd never begrudge them a fish or two. Had them swim into my legs while fishing the river at night, now thats what you call getting a fright! Not sure who was more startled, me or the otter...
Its called fishing, not catching. If it was called catching it wouldn't be fishing!

I was too busy sh1tting myself to make a sound!
Then there was the time I hooked one on a fly - he was definitely more startled that time...
