I heard an interesting fact last Saturday, that common and starry smooth-hounds are in fact starry smooth-hounds no such thing as a common!!!

There are two species, just that the ones we get are all starry's and starry's in disguise.
Can't remember off hand but I think the common us more popular off Spain with only rare catches in Irish waters.

i think the conclusion was that common hounds were never caught in irish waters.
but there is an odd one caught in the south of engerland

got 2 on sat.night 38cm and 39cm,and a small tope ,34cm...rag,tipped with crab.
