Election 2011 and Irish Bass

#1 Post by teacher »

The Irish Bass Group, with the help of other conservation and sea angling organisations, are running a campaign to highlight the need for better management and protection of our sea bass and our sea angling sector.

We believe that by focusing on the potential of our bass angling sector, we can show the benefits of including sea anglers in the management of all our sea fish stocks.

Now we need your help.

We are encouraging you to download and print a few copies of this flyer.

Then all you need to do is just hand the flyer to the canvassing politicians, in exchange for the literature they will be handing you, when they come calling to your door before the election.

There is no need for you to get into any dialogue with the politicians as Irish Bass will be contacting all of them about the issues involved.

We really need the support of all anglers and also those who believe in protecting our marine environment and all the species that are important to angling.

We would also hope that all anglers, regardless of the species that they fish for, would pass this message on to their friends so they could hand it out as well.

Great idea, already "doorstepped" a few local canvassers.
Everyone should believe in something; I believe I’ll go fishing.

Well done everyone so far!
This is more important than people may think. Good angling is very important to Ireland's future economic health as well as its social health.

So come on everybody and canvas the canvassers while we have this opportunity to make a difference!!!!

Tight lines,
John D.

Lads you can post questions direct to election candidates online VIA the following link http://www.candidatewatch.ie/- go to your constituency and have a look. Many politicians have responded to questions posed. For those in Wexford/Waterford ask your candidates what they plan to do to protect the future of angling in the area for Bass.

That's great! Brilliant post.

I see a lot of Wexford candidates haven't even received one question yet.
Why not be the first person to pose a question - surely it'll be one of their most memorable ones!?

Yours faithfully,
John D.

Has IrishBass contacted the different parties yet?
What is thier stand point on the issues raised?

The vote is getting close now :)

Good points guys.

Well I do know that there is a stock of bass off the Louth coast so why not pose questions to candidates in your constituency?

To the best of my knowledge Irish Bass has contacted most if not all of the candidates.

I hope this answers your questions?
