Donaghadee, Co Down, 29/01/11

#1 Post by Drew »

DPeople: Myself, Dan, Shep and Sheps mate

Duration: 5.30pm - 9.30pm

Tide: Push, high, drop

Weather: Bit of a S/Easterly, Bit of cloud cover

Bait: Lugworm, White Rag, and Mackeral

Rigs: Loops, Pulleys, Flappers, Sheppys

Results:
Drew : Coalfish to 36cm, Pollack, 5 Beard, Flounder, LSSS
Dan : Pollack and a Shorey
Shep n Mate : Blank

Report:

No better way to spend your Saturday night than with a bit of fishing, and Donaghadee was the target venue yet again.
Dan and I were out this afternoon digging lug like troopers for this evening, and earlier in the day I got to McKees tackle for some Mackeral for tipping.
Thought we were in for a real good session as on the first cast I had a thumping bite and ended up with a nice 36cm Coalfish... However, In honesty, Donaghadee was again quiet with the real action happening as the tide was dropping later in the session, A few coalies on the loops at distance, a random flounder, and a load of Sea Scorpions from under the rod tips...
Won't complain though... Roll on the next one!

Thats the fella mate, they're actually not all that spikey, only thing I'd really look out for are the wee gill rakers. They're very cool, grunt in your hand and all...
