flotation suit or not

Once again im asking for advice rather than giving it I always fish from ashore mostly beaches piers etc and im looking to buy a bib n brace and jacket but im not sure whether to buy a flotation suit or a two piece suit.Is it point less buying a flotation suit as im on mostly beaches and do they restrict you in casting walking etc.Also any info on what brands would be great .Thanks again

i have a flotation suit and the jacket is very big and bulky, although very warm and keeps me dry, its hard to cast in, i nearly always wear chest waders and a smock, keeps me warm and dry and doesnt restrict me from casting! hope it helps

well spring/summer is coming so u prob wont need a flotation suit as it will be warmer unless u plan to do rock/ledge fishing.the suits are bulky alrite and do restrict ur casting.smocks are quiet good for the summer.any of the imax ranges are good and at a decent price too.u get wat u pay 4 mate

Great lads that solves my problem I won't be getting the flotation suit . I'll look at some two piece suits instead.

i have a floatation suit a fladen two peice i got it off my wife for christmas to replace my old fladen one peice that was nearly 5 years old and started to leak ,if its cold i wouldnt go out without it is sooooooo warm i can stand out fishing for hours on end without getting cold or wet if i fall in i have at least an hour to get rescued before hyperthermia puts me to sleep for good ,to say it restricts you while casting is a bit over the top,ok we would all get better distance if we wore tshirts or better still went topless but i would rather be warm than frozen if your a fair weather angler then you dont need one ,mine would not be used for maybe 7 or 8 months of the year ,but for the other,s i wouldnt head out without it for 110 yo yos on line its cheap for what you get ,warm dry,and boyant
p.s i fish at least twice a week no matter what the weather know you know how

Hmmm. I back thinking to the flotation suit good man Roger thanks Should I get a size larger than I would normally wear or are the suits made to consider clothes underneath

bib n brace with a jacket should do you fine coming into the spring an summer, but i agree with roger on the floatation suit. i only wear mine over the winter months and it is a god send, keeps me warm and dry no mater how bad the weather gets, over the winter i would not go out fishing without it.

I got the fisheagle 2 piece flotation suit for christmas, ive never had a flotation suit before and i think its the best invention ever.
it was cumbersome at the start as i was unaccustomed to wearing such big and bulky clothing but i find that overall my movement isnt any more restricted than wearing the half dozen layers i used to wear. and as for casting, well, im no power caster so i havent lost anything in way of distance.
the best thing i like about it is the 6 inch collar that covers half your head when you put it up. if the cold wind doth blow you can turn your back to it you can pretty much hide inside your jacket and dont feel it at all.
it completely sealed from the elements and so warm i cant believe i didnt have one before now. ill never go back to anything else when it comes to winter clothing.
im sure ill still get use out of the bib and braces in the summer on the colder days when i can maybe get away with a lighter jacket but need something warmer underneath.

the only thing i dislike about it is if i sit down i have to remember to lift the coat tail otherwise ill sit on it and half choke myself but its a small price to pay.

Fish eagle seems to have great reviews for the price looks good too so its either one of them or the sunridge mk6 .what's the fitting like should you stick to your regular size I heard they make them slightly larger to accommodate layers.

one thing i dont like about sunridge suits is the zip get a bit of sand in them and your stuck,go for one with a big zip as it wont clog with sand as easy especialy in the wet

i have this fisheagle 2 piece aswell.wat height wud u be and i mite be able to give u an idea.but dont blame me if it doesnt fit.im just shy of 5,9 and i went for the large and its perfect,the medium wud of being to tight.u mite be better to go for the size up wat u normally go for.noting as bad as havin sumthing to tight.wat ever size jacket u use well go for that in the suit,

Hi I got a floatation suit last summer and I had to try on a lot of suits before I got one that I thought fitted well so I would say to try on a few to get the right size for you and I tried on the sun dridge and I found that large size massive but I got the shakes spear tide water large size and it's a great fit if you look at a post on the site called first thornie of the year on the pics you can see the tide water suit. absoliutly do not see reason to wear floation suit...only if u r afraid about yours safety...i wearing ski jacket ant pants of "white rock",very confortable,warm,waterproof(8000 to meter per hour,most fishing gear brands do only 5000),tryed floation suit,was feeling like "robocop" ,maybe it would b ok on da beach,but on the rocks ...oh yer and good tactikal shoes,and u sorted...if u think of some ski wear can check "tikimax" sometimes they have some good brands for good price...

its nothing to do with being afraid of falling in ,i,m a very strong swimmer and was a pool lifeguard ,its about hyperthemia ,if you fall in the water at this time of the year your arms and legs stop working very quickly and its quite difficult to swim without them also to buy good quality ski gear will cost you more than a good floatation suit ,they also have a wistle in the pocket sewn to the suit so you can stay warm whistling a tune

yes thats true,and u will b very lucky if yours face will up to the sky,nt to da water
