windy wexford beach 26/1/11

#1 Post by mitch »

people me/millbbrook
time 5 to 11 pm
rigs 2 and 3 flaps
bait mack/lug/razor/squid
conditions n/east wind
results 4 codling to 40cm,5 flounder to 35cm /dabs to 28 cm and r/ling
tide droping and rising

arrived at beach and plenty of movement in water and nice bit of colour ,2 rods
each went out ,it was just starting to get dark so everything was in our favour except the tide ,but i wasn't to worried everything else was good .
with the strong wind bite detection went out the window except for 3 of the codling
that gave us slackliners ,from the first cast we were bringing in doubles and trebles 0f mostly dabs and flounders ,as the tide started to push the odd codling started to show and so did those rockling [little darlings] things started to slow down around 10.30 so at stage the wind and cold and hunger were getting the better of us lucky the chipper in ashford is open to 1am :D :D

Good session, you were kept fairly busy.
Northeast winds on the south coast just kill off the fishing.
