Culdaff beach,Donegal 22/01/2011

#1 Post by cathald »

People:me and Tom

Duration:9.30-2pm

Tide:dropping

Weather:cold in the morning but turned out nice

Bait:mack

Rigs:flappers and clipped down

Results:me 1 plaice 2 turbots and a sea trout
Tom the dreaded blank

Report:Met up with Tom this morning in Culdaff beach and it was bloody cold the sand was frozen it was that cold.
We soon had the rods in the water but it was very quiet not a bite
After an hour or so Tom saw I had slack line and a wee plaice resulted
soon after I had a knock on the rod out at distance and a nice trout was soon on the beach
followed by a double shot of turbo's on the close in rod
Nothing after that
As ever the craic was mighty and a good day was had

We fished our first master angler on Culdaff last week! 9 anglers and 37 fish caught and that's not including all the undersized fish! To be honest most of the fish were caught after the sun went down! All the coalies got were around the 19/20cm mark with a couple at 27cm. Good session lads and at least yous saved the blank!
