Very sorry to hear about John, a true character with a glint in his eye.
He battled his illness with bravery and positivity.
He gave me a lesson many years ago between the Skerries in Portrush in how to catch Ballans.....never forgot it!
He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
To his family and friends sincere sympathy,

Mike

A friend and a gentleman you’ll be sadly missed

Rest gently mate, we’ll meet up again

Dress me up in me oilskin and jumper
No more on the docks I'll be seen
Just tell me old shipmates
I'm taking a trip, mates
And I'll see them someday in Fiddler's Green
