#1 Post by roger de dodger »

People:me then bren and his da

Duration:headed down courtown direction 2 hours one mark 3 on next

Tide:full at 9

Weather:calm and a bit cold

Bait:lug ,wraps and mac

Rigs:3 hook flap and 3 hook cascade

Results:3 whiting,one rockling,one small codling,8 flounder and 6 dab

Report:fist mark was a blank so shifted a few mile up the coast to a slightly deeper mark was glad i did :) nice steady fishing with time for a rest between fish but not long enough to get frozen to your seat box :? fine big full moon to brighten up the night shame it didnt warm it too :!: bren and his da arrived down with smokless fuel and soon had a nice hand thawing area beside a big rock ,they where getting a few fish too but no big codling unless they got some after i left :?: :?: all but my whiting where counters with some nice fat flounder for the pot 8) (pics to follow my camera needs defrosting  )

i know what where your commin from dave ,to move or not to move ,to go or have one more cast or three ,after 2 hours of boredom i had a gut feeling i was wasting my time ,saying that two lads where leaving the second mark as i arrived with only a flounder each for a few hours fishing so maybe if i had of stayed put i could have done ok?well we will never know

Ive never eaten a flounder but i read in total sea fishing a way to cook them -Bowl them in a pot with nails simmer for 5 mins then eat the nails!!they reckoned they were horrible  I suppose we all have different pallets.

you came good in the end roger   . sometimes the thought of packing away to have to set up again can be a real pain (espically in sub zero temps  ). but it seemed to do the trick for you all :P . and as for flounder,, i'd take flounder over plaice any day for a feed :D :D . just a pity we never catch any big enough to get a fillet off
